Join the Locksmith!!

to all keyclubbers:

so, as you know, the Locksmith is our monthly newsletter. to make the Locksmith happen, we need your help. we need members to submit articles, help out with layout, and create crosswords, comics, and other fun stuff.
if you're interested in doing any of the above, you should definitely email locksmith@stuykc.org with your name and id in the body and "joining the locksmith" in the subject. your locksmith committee heads, joanna and pei, will then send you guys more info.

also, check out old locksmith issues at http://stuykc.org/boomba/locksmith-issues.html.

joining locksmith is a great way to contribute to key club, to learn more about key club, and to get points (the last thing being the least important, of course). so, we hope you guys will help out with the locksmith! it'd be awesome. =]

<333>

EVENTS!

Hey guys!
There's an event next weekend for any Cantonese speaking members. We're really sorry for this selectiveness, but it is an event that is taking place for the Chinese community, specifically Chinatown. This is a free conference for Families of people with Developmental Disabilities and they need cantonese-speaking volunteers to greet people, help with registration, and direct families to appropriate meeting rooms. So if you speak cantonese PLEASE sign up for this event! =)

>> **Conference for Families of People with Developmental Disabilities**:
Project Captain needed! (put stars *** in the subject of your email if you're interested)
Date: Saturday, November 17
Time: 10 AM - 2 PM
Location: Middle School 131 on 100 Hester Street
Directions: Take the B, D to Grand Street and walk up along Chrystie Street towards the "Dead End" The school is right there.
Task : Cantonese-speaking volunteers will greet people, help with registration, direct families to appropriate meeting rooms, set up, clean up and be on hand to make people comfortable.
Note: Volunteers must be able to speak Cantonese fluently. You will have a short session to learn any technological terms in cantonese.

So PLEASE sign up for this event! Just send an e-mail to stuykc@yahoo.com with the event name in the Subject and your NAME, ID, and PHONE NUMBER in the Body.

ALSO!

BAKE SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Tuesday, NOVEMBER 13)
THIS IS OUR SECOND BAKE SALE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. Those of you who can bake should bake. This time you have the entire weekend to bake. Of course you will receive credit for whatever you bring. For those of you who cannot be trusted in the kitchen, you can buy goodies or bring paper goods (PLATES, FORKS) and receive credit for that as well. For those of you who cannot bring anything, you can help out before first period (7:30-8:00), during 1st, 2nd, or 3rd period.
IF YOU WANT TO DO ANY OF THOSE THINGS, EMAIL US AND INDICATE WHAT IT IS THAT FLOATS YOUR BOAT.
** Since we had such a massive turnout of napkins from the last bake sale, we do NOT need anymore napkins. Bring in bakes goods instead ;)

ONE MORE THING!

The High School of Math, Science and Engineering is partnering with Living Beyond Belief to bring you the... BLACK AND WHITE BALL! This is a special fundraiser that the ENTIRE DIVISION is working on! It is a formal ball, and a dress code is required. It is taking place in an elegant location with many luxurious features so it'll be very fun! Tickets will be sold to Key Club members first and they are $22 dollars each. Now this may seem pretty pricey, but all the money is donated to helping a good cause. We will talk more about this at this Friday's meeting, but if anybody wishes to purchase a ticket, please e-mail us back with your NAME, ID, and PHONE NUMBER, and BLACK AND WHITE BALL in the subject.

AND FINALLY!!....

Unicef Boxes are to be handed in by November 16! Please put your NAME, ID and how much you've raised on the box so we can give you credit!

>>> Since fundraising for Unicef is such an important project. We have decided to make TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 7, the UNICEF DAY! It'll be part of celebrating KEY CLUB WEEK by everybody carrying around their UNICEF boxes. PLEASE carry it with you throughout the day so everybody can be aware of UNICEF and also increase your chances of receiving donations. Remember, a great way to raise money is simply to ask your TEACHERS and PARENTS. Most of them are usually nice enough to donate a dollar or more!

AND YES THIS IS THE END!

Wow, that was a long e-mail. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL who actually read this entire e-mail because you guys would be the cool people who knows what's going on ;) If you guys find me tomorrow you will receive a special UNICEF STICKER for reading everything!

So that's all for now! HAPPY KEY CLUB WEEK! =)

- CHCHCH HUHU <--- whoever can figure out what that stands for gets a free cookie in next week's BAKE SALE!

KEY CLUB WEEK!

BOOMBA!

HEY!

LOL Alright everybody, as we've said on Friday's meeting, this week will be KEY CLUB WEEK! woo hoo! So for tomorrow be sure to wear whatever volunteer shirt you've gotten from our events! Now I know a lot of you have the BRIGHT GREEN MSABC shirt, but hey, if you wear that, there is no way people won't notice it. (Also, if you see others wearing the same shirt you'll KNOW to immediately yell BOOMBA!) =) For those of you who don't have any shirts, you are always free to just yell boomba to anybody you see wearing these shirts to show that you're part of key club too =) OR you can ask your friends to lend you some, I know a lot of people should have more than enough shirts to go around. I have over 20 myself, so ask around!

Now for those of you who do not really know about Key Club Week, it's the first week of November when we celebrate our Key Club pride and everything. Each day is a different theme, so we've decided to make the first day "KEY CLUB SPIRIT" and you can show this by wearing the volunteer shirts to show off what you've done in Key Club. Now this also helps spread awareness of our club and what we do.

Note from your Web Committee Heads: If anybody has the recordings from Friday's meeting of the Beaver Cheer, please try to burn it onto a CD so our Web committee heads can post it up on the website. You can hand them in at the next meeting and you'll receive points for helping the Web Committee out =)

ANOTHER NOTE: A roster with updated points will be posted soon so don't worry about it. There are just so many of you (over 300 actually) so we've got to make sure we get everything right.

That's all for now! DON'T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR SHIRTS TOMORROW =) I'll keep an eye out for everybody ;)

- YO CAB! =)

paid members make sure you're on this list!

attached is a list of members who have paid their dues.

if you have paid and are not on the list, send us an email with "roster problem" in the subject and give us your name, id, grade, email, phone number, address, and bday and we'll check up on that

if your id # is incorrect or not there, you can also send an email with "roster id" in the subject. make sure you include your name in the email!

if there are any other problems, like other incorrect information, please email us with "other problem" in the subject.  let us know what it is in the body, and don't forget to include your name.

MISTAKE SORRY. PLEASE DISREGARD MY LAST E-MAIL

SO SORRY. College has fried my brain.

MEETING IS IN LECTURE HALL A SO COME PICK UP CANDY THERE IN LECTURE HALL A!!!

Never ever listen to me.

Meeting Tomorrow in Cafeteria. BRING MONEY IF YOU WANT TO SELL CANDY

Hello puppies.

Reminder: Our weekly meetings on Friday in the cafeteria will take place once again TOMORROW in the CAFETERIA. An important thing to keep in mind: if you don't have time to go to many events but you still want to stack up on those points, you can put some effort into selling candy instead ($30/box or $20/box but it $30 are preferred and most people can sell a box of candy in one day, two at most). BOXES OF CANDY WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT THE MEETING TOMORROW. So, bring in $30 or $20 and you will be reimbursed as you sell the candy. In other words, you can buy a box of candy for us and sell it to get your money back. Other young 'uns actually make money off of this by charging the candy higher than we charge it, allowing you to make a profit.

SO, in other words, bring money to get yo goodies.

Much puppy love,
Cab (sorry mamacitas, i didn't have time to let someone check this out prior to sending it. college apps = no tiempo. <3)

READ THIS!

BOOMBA.
hope everyone got lotsa candy from halloween =D

So there is a meeting tomorrow, NOT in the cafeteria. It will be in Lecture Hall A, which is basically where the auditorium is on the first floor. GO THERE INSTEAD! Bring your friends if they're interested. THEY CAN STILL JOIN THIS WONDERFUL CLUB. It's not too late!

CANDY SELLERS!
If you have boxes from the last time you sold candy, please bring them in for us to reuse. It's good to be environmentally friendly! We will also have more candy for you guys to sell. Remember you get 3 points for each dollar of candy you sell. So, if you sell 20 dollars worth of candy, you get 60 points. That's A WHOLE HOUR OF CREDIT!!

LASTLY,
We have an event coming up for PAID MEMBERS. That means if you filled out that index card and gave us the 12 bucks, you can go! It would be to your benefit to go and learn something useful. Here are the details:
